This is a painting

I am playing with the concept of "idea", or virtual work versus actually executed work, e.g. a painted painting. When you read the text you immediately try to picture the described painting, imagining what it would look like. Any visual work, a painting, drawing etc. also contains the idea and concept behind it, but does it work vice versa – and which one is preferable?

In my oppinion, it is impossible for a human being to create anything without a concept or an idea. Hence, conceptualism as something on its own, and set apart from “other” works of art is art theory trying to trick us into believeing something that simply is not possible. Making actual visual art, like these texts also are, is superior to art theory, and conceptual art is all art, all art is conceptual.
